Sera UV-C System[Power - 5W]

UV-C lamp designed for freshwater and marine aquariums up to 500 liters. The Sera UV-C systems are versatile and highly effective, making them ideal for both ponds and aquariums. UV-C radiation is absent on Earth and originates solely from outer space. As a result, no organisms have evolved to withstand this intense radiation, including pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, or the reproductive stages of filamentous algae. This is where the UV-C system comes into play, enhancing the well-being and health of aquatic life when utilized in filtration. It effectively curbs bacterial water cloudiness and green water in ponds.

Within these systems, water is briefly exposed to UV-C radiation. The unit features a UV-C emitting lamp that is encased in a durable silica glass tube, allowing water to flow around it. Water is drawn in through a hose connector and exits via another connector on the opposite side. The adjustable adapter accommodates hoses of varying diameters. Changing the highly efficient PL UV-C lamp is straightforward. The end pieces with hose connectors can rotate, facilitating the shortest possible hose connections. The systems are available in various capacities to meet your needs (refer to the overview). They connect to a suitably powerful pump using a hose. Sera UV-C systems are primarily equipped with energy-efficient lamps and a smoothly operating electronic ballast.

The Sera UV-C System 5W (UV-C purifier) is also suitable for marine aquariums, effectively removing all types of floating algae without chemicals (turbidity, green water), suppressing the reproduction of filamentous and other algae, and reducing the likelihood of diseases and bacterial cloudiness in water. This powerful yet energy-efficient UV-C cleaner offers universal connections for various filters and pumps. The Sera UV-C System 5W can be used alongside the Sera P 1200 pump or connected to external bioactive filters like the Sera Serafil 130 or 250. The separate pump and tap in the filter should be capable of circulating a volume of water equivalent to that of the tank within one hour. Please note, the UV-C System 5W requires a pump to operate.

Neither the aquarium's inhabitants nor the nitrifying bacteria residing in the filter are harmed by UV radiation.
