Product description

This all-year-round maintenance blend fulfills the dietary needs of healthy, non-breeding, non-moulting birds such as canaries, budgies (parakeets), cockatiels, doves, lovebirds, conures, parrotlets, pigeons, and various other small birds. You can introduce an Adult Lifetime formula after your bird has been on a High Potency formula for 6 months. This blend is also suitable for birds with specific dietary sensitivities. Notably, this formula is free from the following ingredients: peanuts, sunflower, and corn.

Storage: Harrison's Bird Foods contain no artificial preservatives. Once opened, a bag should be consumed within 8 weeks. Keeping the food in the refrigerator or freezer can help preserve its freshness.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

Provide fresh food daily and avoid "topping off." To minimize waste, serve as separate meals. Birds can eat as much as they desire, but use the following guideline for approximate feeding amounts of Adult Lifetime Mash (ALM) along with additional foods:

  • Canary / Finch: 1 - 13/4 g (1 tsp) of ALM; ½ tsp additional foods
  • Budgie (parakeet) / Parrotlet: 11/2 - 3g (1 - 2 tsp) of ALM; ½ - 1 tsp additional foods
  • Cockatiel / Lovebird: 2 - 5g (11/2 - 3 tsp) of ALM; ½ - 1 tsp additional foods
  • Dove / Pigeon: 5 - 15g (½ - 11/2 tbs) of ALM; 1 - 2 tsp additional foods

FEEDING OF ADDITIONAL ITEMS

Harrison's products should constitute 75-80% of your bird's overall diet. It’s advised that 15-20% of the total diet consists of high-quality, preferably organic, vegetables and fruits. The most beneficial options include dark yellow meaty or dark green leafy items like sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, winter squash, broccoli, parsley, spinach, mango, or papaya.

Moreover, it’s suggested that around 5% of the diet should be high-quality, ideally organic, sources rich in omega-3s. Good examples are chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, or certain nuts. For more insights on the importance and advantages of including these items, consult relevant articles.

It is not advisable to add vitamins or other supplementary products for birds or animals.

[For birds suspected of having iron-storage disease: Steer clear of citrus fruits, tomatoes, kiwi, strawberries, and other vitamin C-rich foods. Avoid grapes, currants, raisins, liver, red meat, egg yolk, or dark green vegetables like spinach, which might have high iron content.]
