Flourite is a uniquely fractured, stable porous clay gravel designed specifically for natural planted aquariums. While it is ideally suited for planted setups, it can also be utilized in any freshwater aquarium setting. Flourite performs best when used by itself as a foundational substrate layer, although it can be combined with other gravel types.
KEY FEATURES:
SET-UP: Even though it comes pre-washed, Flourite is a natural material that might gather dust during shipping, so rinsing it before use is recommended to eliminate any remaining particles. When introducing water to your aquarium, pour it in gradually to prevent disturbing the Flourite substrate. To do this, place a bowl in the aquarium and direct the water into the bowl, allowing it to overflow gently onto the gravel bed. It's normal for the water to appear cloudy at first. To clear the cloudiness, use mechanical filtration (like filter floss). You can also use Clarity to speed up the clearing process.
