ParaGuard is the sole aldehyde-based (10% by weight) solution that is both fish and filter safe for controlling parasites on fish. Unlike formalin-based treatments that can be highly toxic and challenging to administer, ParaGuard is free from formaldehyde and methanol, ensuring it does not affect the pH levels of your aquarium.
KEY FEATURES:
DIRECTIONS: Dosing Before use, remove all invertebrates from the tank and any chemical filtration. Add 5mL (1 capful) of ParaGuard for every 40L (10 US gallons). Repeat this dosage daily as necessary, provided that the fish do not display any signs of stress. ParaGuard can also be utilized as a medicated dip. For 1-hour dips, mix 3mL per 4L (1 US gallon) in a container separate from your main tank. Dips can be prolonged if the fish show no signs of stress. Remember, many diseases can persist in the water as well as on the fish. Administering a dip treatment will be ineffective if the fish are returned to contaminated water. Quarantine This setup allows you to monitor and treat new fish before introducing them into the main tank. ParaGuard is gentle enough for preventive use (even when there are no visible symptoms) if necessary. Quarantine durations can vary, but we typically suggest a treatment period of 2 weeks with ParaGuard to eliminate any potential external infections. Sensitive Fish Certain fish species are more susceptible to medications than others. Eels, loaches, rays, sharks, and many others are noted for their heightened sensitivity. If you believe your fish may react adversely to medications, it's perfectly acceptable to start with a lower dose and gradually increase to the full dosage over several days.
