Product description

This all-season maintenance blend satisfies the dietary needs of healthy, non-breeding, non-moulting birds such as canaries, budgies (parakeets), cockatiels, doves, lovebirds, conures, parrotlets, pigeons, and other small avian companions. An Adult Lifetime formula can be introduced after a bird has followed a High Potency formula for a duration of 6 months. It is also suitable for birds with specific dietary sensitivities.

Storage: Harrison's Bird Foods are free from artificial preservatives. Once opened, a bag of Harrison's should be consumed within 8 weeks. Keeping the food in the refrigerator or freezer can help maintain its freshness.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

  • Provide fresh food daily, avoiding the practice of "topping off".
  • To minimize waste, serve as separate meals.
  • Birds can eat as much as they like, but consider the following as a guideline.

Approximate feeding amounts of Adult Lifetime Superfine (ALSF) and other foods:

  • Canary / Finch: 1 - 13/4 g (1 tsp) of ALSF and ½ tsp of additional foods
  • Budgie (parakeet) / Parrotlet: 11/2 - 3 g (1 - 2 tsp) of ALSF and ½ - 1 tsp of additional foods
  • Cockatiel / Lovebird: 2 - 5 g (11/2 - 3 tsp) of ALSF and ½ - 1 tsp of additional foods

FEEDING OF ADDITIONAL ITEMS

Harrison's products should constitute 75-80% of your bird's diet by volume. It is advisable that 15-20% of the overall diet consists of high-quality, preferably organic, vegetables and fruits. Dark yellow or dark green leafy items such as sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, winter squash, broccoli, parsley, spinach, mango, or papaya are particularly beneficial.

Additionally, it is recommended that 5% of the diet by volume include high-quality, ideally organic, sources rich in omega-3s. Options include chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, or specific nuts. For more insights on the importance and advantages of these items, please refer to this article.

It is not advisable to supplement with vitamins or other supplementary products for birds.

[For birds with suspected iron-storage disease: Refrain from giving citrus fruits, tomatoes, kiwi, strawberries, and other foods containing vitamin C. Also avoid grapes, currants, raisins, liver, red meat, egg yolk, or dark green vegetables like spinach, which may have high iron levels.]
