These high-performance hang-on protein skimmers are specifically created to hang on the edge of your aquarium. While protein skimmers may have a straightforward design, they play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy aquatic environment. Each protein skimmer is equipped with a submersible needle pump that employs needle-wheel technology to generate ultra-fine bubbles. These bubbles utilize surface tension to capture organic waste, transporting it up through the column and into a collection cup for easy removal. All of our protein skimmers come with a needle wheel venturi pump included. This pump draws in air through the venturi air pipe, and as the water passes through the needle wheel impeller, it breaks the incoming bubbles into a fine mist, enhancing the skimmer's performance significantly. Please ensure that the outlet pipes of the skimmer are fully submerged for optimal operation. The water level should not fall below the maximum depth specified below. These skimmers are also suitable for use in sumps (as a hang-on).
