These high-efficiency hang-on protein skimmers are specifically crafted to be attached to the edge of your fish tank. While protein skimmers have a relatively straightforward design, they play a crucial role in maintaining the health of your aquarium. Each skimmer is equipped with a submersible needle pump that employs needle-wheel technology to create ultra-fine bubbles. The surface tension generated by these bubbles effectively attracts organic waste and transports it up the column, where it is then "skimmed" into a collection cup for easy disposal. All our protein skimmers come with a needle wheel venturi pump included. This type of pump brings in air through the venturi air pipe, and as water flows through the needle wheel impeller, it breaks the incoming bubbles into a fine mist. This results in enhanced skimmer performance. Please make sure that the outlet pipes of the skimmer are completely submerged for optimal operation. The water level must not fall below the maximum depth specified below. These skimmers are suitable for sump applications as a hang-on solution.
