Limit the use of adsorptive filter media to a few weeks. Since harmful substances merely adhere to the surface, they can potentially re-dissolve over time and re-enter the water. Therefore, regular replacement is essential. Typically, adsorptive filtering is only required during the initial setup phase of the aquarium or subsequent to medication usage.
