Prefilter material composed of hollow ceramic rings designed to catch larger dirt particles.
As water enters the filtration process, it flows through the hollow ceramic rings, allowing larger debris to settle at the bottom. The prefiltered water then moves through the remaining filter layers. EHEIM MECH is straightforward to clean and can be reused.

SUBSTRATpro is made from pearl-shaped sintered glass. Its spherical design allows for high bulk density, maximizing the volume in the filter baskets or modules. Additionally, the optimal surface area of the beads facilitates extensive colonization by essential purification bacteria.
With a high concentration of bacteria, peak nitrite levels are more effectively managed, leading to longer maintenance intervals for the filter material.
