EHEIM phosphate out
Chemically effective phosphate remover inhibits algae growth.
EHEIM phosphateout is a special iron compound for chemical filtration. The iron binds the phosphate, removes it from the water cycle and gradually reduces the phosphate content in the aquarium. This primarily inhibits algae growth.
When the phosphate content and thus the algae growth increases again, the filter medium is exhausted and must be replaced.
EHEIM phosphateout is available as granulate for external filters and as a foam cartridge for internal filters. It is free of harmful substances and is suitable for fresh and sea water.
Phosphate remover inhibits algae growth
Iron compound, free from pollutants
Suitable for fresh and sea water
Single use (replace if phosphate content increases again)
For external filters as granules, for internal filters as foam cartridge
Chemical filter media
Depending on the type, chemical filter media influence the pH value and water hardness (peat) – or reduce the phosphate content and inhibit algae growth (phosphateout).
The pH value of tap water is usually between 7.3 and 7.8, which means it is slightly alkaline. However, most ornamental fish require acidic water - a pH value below 7.0. EHEIM PEAT pellets lower the pH value and reduce water hardness.
Phosphates are mainly caused by organic contamination of the aquarium water (food residues, excrement, etc.) and are responsible for algae growth. EHEIM phosphateout binds the phosphate and removes it from the water cycle.
