Carbonate hardness (KH) is among the less critical factors of aquarium water quality.
The majority of fish in freshwater aquariums prefer somewhat harder water. Furthermore, KH serves as a buffer that shields against harmful pH fluctuations (including sudden increases in acidity).
For all community aquariums, it's essential to maintain a minimum KH of 6°dkH (even higher for particular species like African Cichlids). This helps ensure the health of the fish and keeps the aquarium water stable and manageable.
Sera KH/pH-plus effectively raises KH to the desired level over the long term. The pH will gradually increase and, most importantly, remain securely stabilized.
