Product description
Year-round nutrition for conures, lories, quakers, cockatiels, lovebirds, doves, and other small to medium-sized parrots. All birds should begin and remain on the High Potency Formula for at least 6 months. Ideal for birds that are moulting, overweight, underweight, especially active, living in colder climates, recovering from illness, or suffering from liver or kidney issues. Provide High Potency Formula for a minimum of 6-9 months. Birds should consume the High Potency Formula 1-2 months before breeding and continue until the chicks are weaned or for at least six months before switching back to the Adult Lifetime Formula. The amount of certified organic vegetables and fruits can be increased until the chicks are weaned. For every 2 Tbs (20 g) of Formula, add ½ (5 g) Tbs of certified organic sunflower seeds. Harrison's Bird Foods contain no artificial preservatives. Once opened, a bag should be consumed within 8 weeks. Storing the food in the refrigerator or freezer can help retain its freshness. Offer fresh food daily, and do not "top off." To minimize waste, serve as separate meals. Birds can eat as much as they desire, but use the following guidelines as a reference for approximate feeding amounts of High Potency Fine (HPF) along with additional foods: : 1½ - 3g (1 - 2 tsp) of HPF and ½ - 1 tsp of additional foods : 2 - 5g (1½ - 3 tsp) of HPF and ½ - 1 tsp of additional foods : 3 - 7g (2 - 4 tsp) of HPF and 1 - 1½ tsp of additional foods : 5 - 9g (3 - 5 tsp) of HPF and 1 - 2 tsp of additional foods : 5 - 15g (½ - 1½ tbs) of HPF and 1 - 2 tsp of additional foods : 20 - 100g (2 - 10 tbs) of HPF and 1 - 6 tsp of additional foods *For lories, soak the formula in 2 tbs of water and ½ tsp of corn syrup. Harrison's products should constitute 75-80% of your bird’s diet by volume. It is advisable that 15-20% of the overall diet consists of high-quality, ideally organic, vegetables and fruits. Dark yellow or meaty, as well as dark green leafy options like sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, winter squash, broccoli, parsley, spinach, mango, or papaya are particularly beneficial. Additionally, it is recommended that 5% of the overall diet includes high-quality, ideally organic, items that are rich in omega-3s. Examples are chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, or certain nuts. For more information regarding the importance and advantages of these items, refer to the related article. It is not advisable to supplement with vitamins or other bird or animal dietary products.
