Selecting the appropriate size kennel for your pet is essential for a successful crate training experience. Kennels are available in a range of sizes, from small to giant, to suit various dog breeds. So, why is kennel sizing so important? Just think about your pet trying to stand, turn, or sit in a kennel that’s too cramped. To find the ideal kennel size for your furry friend, measure your pet from the top of their head to the ground and from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail. The kennel should be 3-4 inches taller and longer than your pet to provide enough room to stand up, easily turn around, and lie down comfortably! If it’s too small, your pet will feel restricted; if it’s too big, they might use their space as a bathroom.
