Flourite is a uniquely fractured, stable porous clay gravel designed specifically for natural planted aquariums. While its aesthetic is ideally suited for planted setups, it can also be utilized in any freshwater aquarium setting. Flourite performs best when used solely as a foundational substrate, though it can be combined with other types of gravel. KEY FEATURES:

SET-UP: Although Flourite comes pre-washed, being a natural product means it may accumulate dust during shipping and should be rinsed prior to use to eliminate any leftover particles. When filling the aquarium with water, do so gradually to prevent disturbing the Flourite substrate. Position a bowl in the tank and pour water directly into the bowl, allowing it to overflow gently onto the gravel bed. It’s normal for the water to appear cloudy at first. To clear up the cloudiness, utilize mechanical filtration (like filter floss). You can also use Clarity to speed up the clearing process.
