API® pH DOWN is a pH adjuster designed to reduce pH levels, making freshwater aquariums more acidic for both fish and plants when the levels become too elevated. pH indicates the acidity or alkalinity of water, with a neutral pH value of 7.0, values above 7.0 deemed alkaline, and those below 7.0 classified as acidic.
Various fish species require different pH levels to thrive, making it essential to regularly check your water to ensure pH levels are within the appropriate range. The pH DOWN adjuster acts quickly, is clear, simple to use, and will not cloud your aquarium water. Additionally, since it is free from phosphates and nitrates, the pH DOWN adjuster will not promote algae growth.
Use an API pH TEST KIT to assess the pH of your aquarium water. To decrease pH, add 1 ml for every 10 gallons of aquarium water.
Before applying another dose of pH DOWN, take another pH measurement.
Be cautious, as certain fish may react sensitively to pH adjustments exceeding 0.2 within a 24-hour period, so such changes should be made with careful consideration.
