Flourite is a uniquely fractured, stable porous clay gravel designed specifically for natural planted aquariums. While it is ideally suited for planted setups, it can also be utilized in any freshwater aquarium setting. Flourite works best when used alone as a fundamental substrate layer, although it can be blended with other gravels if desired.

SET-UP:
Even though Flourite is pre-washed, being a natural material means it may accumulate dust during shipping and should be rinsed before use to eliminate any excess dust.

When introducing water to your aquarium, fill it slowly to prevent disturbing the Flourite substrate. A helpful tip is to place a bowl inside the aquarium and pour water directly into it, allowing the water to gently overflow onto the gravel bed. Some initial cloudiness is normal. To clear this cloudiness, utilize mechanical filtration methods (like filter floss) and consider using Clarity to speed up the process.
