EXCEPTIONAL FILTRATION! Each bio ball features spines that significantly enhance the surface area to nearly 2 square feet, allowing a substantial number of beneficial bacteria to thrive. These helpful bacteria work to decompose harmful organic waste. You will receive around 300 bio balls, each measuring 1-1/2 inches, conveniently packaged in a mesh bag. Simply rinse and they are ready for use.

Crafted from high-density plastic, these balls are lightweight yet durable enough to maintain their shape and will never degrade or wear out. Bio balls can be utilized loose or within the mesh bag featuring a plastic zipper.

SUPERIOR TO LAVA ROCK: Over time, porous lava rock can become blocked with debris, reducing its surface area and diminishing its capacity to support beneficial bacteria. In contrast, the uniquely arranged spines of our bio balls allow most debris to flow through easily. Lava rock features tiny pores that make cleaning a challenge, whereas bio balls typically do not require cleaning in most applications. Additionally, a bag of wet lava rock is significantly heavier than our bio balls.

EASY TO CLEAN - When organic waste accumulates in the bio balls, they can be gently rinsed in dechlorinated water to eliminate debris and rejuvenate them. To prevent large particles from getting trapped in the bio balls, consider using our FilterFIrst dual-density bonded filter pad or a water polishing pad.
