With the EHEIM pHcontrol+e, you can effortlessly oversee and enhance the pH in your aquarium using a smartphone, tablet, or PC/MAC through a WiFi connection and your web browser. A pH sensor continuously monitors the current pH level of the water, while the pHcontrol+e automatically supplies the necessary CO2. It operates a magnetic valve linked to the CO2 system, dispensing just the right amount of CO2 until the targeted pH level is achieved.
To utilize this feature, you'll need to connect your CO2 system, including a CO2 bottle with a pressure reducer and a magnetic valve (refer to the EHEIM CO2 sets), as well as a CO2 diffuser. The pHcontrol+e includes day/night control and can be integrated with the EHEIM LEDcontrol+e lighting system (part of the EHEIM DIGITAL family).
In addition to light, plants in your aquarium require CO2 as a vital nutrient, along with nitrogen, phosphates, and trace elements. When plants flourish, they release more oxygen, which is essential for your fish. Therefore, by adding CO2, the EHEIM pHcontrol+e indirectly enhances oxygen levels and stabilizes the ideal pH range for your fish, typically between pH 6 and pH 8, with pH 7 being the neutral benchmark.
Note:
The measurement and stabilization of the pH level depend on the carbonate hardness ("KH") of the water. Consequently, the EHEIM pHcontrol+e (in Smart mode) first checks the KH value, as KH, CO2, and pH levels are interdependent.
