Innovative technology for crystal-clear water and healthy fish
In a UV clarifier (also known as a UV sterilizer), aquarium water is passed in a thin layer past a UV-C lamp (burner). The UV-C rays penetrate the water, eliminating germs, algae spores, and other tiny organisms. While conventional systems only irradiate from one side, EHEIM incorporates a reflector to allow the radiation to be mirrored and penetrate the water from multiple angles. This design enhances the efficiency of the reeflexUV+e, which utilizes the patented EHEIM reflector technology.
Additionally, the EHEIM reeflexUV+e features a straightforward water conduction system, allowing water to flow directly around the burner without detours, thereby preventing performance loss. The AUTO-OFF function provides extra safety, as the reeflexUV+e will instantly and automatically turn off when the unit is opened.

It’s important to note that bacterial concentrations in aquariums tend to be higher than in natural waters due to the smaller volume of water. It is crucial to reduce this concentration to a natural level, but completely germ-free water is neither achievable nor advisable. The UV clarifier captures only those germs that are freely floating in the water, sparing the bound purification bacteria in the filter and substrate.
UV clarification effectively removes water turbidity caused by bacteria or floating algae. Essentially, it curbs algae growth by destroying spores.
