While the EHEIM skim350 is built for regular use, it can also be utilized for short-term applications. If you plan to switch it between different aquariums, make sure to prevent the transfer of algae spores or diseases between tanks. The skimmer captures bacteria and dirt particles, which are then collected in the filter sponge. This sponge can easily be removed and should be thoroughly cleaned after each use.
