EHEIM SUBSTRAT is a standard bio-filter medium designed with a large surface area for the growth of beneficial bacteria, ensuring high efficiency.

SUBSTRAT can be applied in single or multiple layers. This highly porous filter medium is crafted from sintered glass, providing an optimal surface structure that promotes excellent colonization conditions for purification bacteria. The area available for colonization is an impressive 450 m² per litre.

EHEIM SUBSTRAT is washable and can be utilized multiple times.
