The Equine Haler is a specialized inhalation device designed for the precise delivery of medications to horses suffering from inflammatory respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (also known as recurrent airway obstruction - RAO). This innovative device offers a practical solution for administering all types of metered dose inhalers (MDI) to horses. The MDI dispenses medicine at an optimal particle size (< 5 microns), ensuring effective delivery directly to the small airways. Developed in Denmark, the Equine Haler has undergone testing at the Centre for Equine Studies, Animal Health Trust, located in Newmarket, UK. Research findings confirm that the medication effectively reaches the small airway system.
