Traditional jugular catheters are typically made of teflon, which can lead to thrombosis or cracking if they remain in place for more than 48 hours. This large bore polyurethane catheter over needle allows for extended use, enabling it to remain in place for as long as 30 days. The EQUIVET HiFlow LongTerm (HFLT) IV Catheter becomes softer when exposed to body temperature. This feature helps reduce common catheter-related issues, such as phlebitis, thanks to the design of these polyurethane catheters. They are non-thrombogenic and do not crack, ensuring they can be safely left in the vein for up to 30 days. Additionally, the catheter comes with suture wings that have holes for easy attachment.
