UV-C Sterilizer for Fresh, Sea, and Lake Water

Sera's UV-C systems are versatile and highly effective. They are ideal for use in both ponds and aquariums.

UV-C radiation is not naturally found on Earth; it originates solely from outer space. As a result, no organisms have evolved to withstand this intense radiation, including pathogens like bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and even the reproductive stages of filamentous algae. This is where the UV-C system excels, enhancing the health and well-being of aquarium inhabitants when utilized during filtration. It effectively reduces bacterial water cloudiness and green water in ponds.

Within these systems, water flows through a chamber where it is exposed to UV-C radiation for a brief duration. The unit features a UV-C emitting lamp, safeguarded by a premium silica glass tube through which the water circulates. Water enters through a hose connector and exits via another connector on the opposite side. The adjustable adapter accommodates hoses of various sizes. Changing the highly efficient PL UV-C lamp is straightforward. The connector ends with hose fittings are rotatable, facilitating the shortest hose connection possible.

The systems come in various capacities to meet your specific requirements (see overview). They connect to a compatible, powerful pump using a hose. Sera UV-C systems are primarily designed with energy-efficient lamps and a smoothly operating electronic ballast.

The 24 W and 55 W UV-C systems come with a 10-meter cable.

Recommended Flow Rates:

for aquariums: 1000 – 2000 litres/hour

for ponds: 2000 – 4000 litres/hour

The UV-C System requires a pump to operate. Neither the aquarium's inhabitants nor the beneficial nitrifying bacteria in the filter are harmed by UV radiation. A suitable pump must be chosen to match the recommended flow rates.
