Sera Magnesium-Test (Mg)-3x15ml[Volume ...
153.00 AED
This product is designed to measure the magnesium concentration in a marine aquarium. Warning! Reagent 1 contains sodium hydroxide, which can cause severe burns. Ensure that the reagent is stored securely out of children's reach. Always wear protective gloves while handling. If it contacts your eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention. If you experience any nausea, consult a doctor and bring this manual with you. A proper magnesium concentration is essential for the health of marine invertebrates and algae, such as red calcareous algae, which utilize significant amounts of magnesium to form their skeletons. Natural seawater typically has a magnesium concentration of around 1300 mg/l. To maintain optimal conditions in your marine aquarium, this level must be achieved. The Sera magnesium test provides a quick and easy way to measure magnesium concentration in your aquarium. You can also easily increase magnesium levels using Sera magnesium plus.
Boost magnesium levels with Sera Marin COMPONENT 6 magnesium. The amount of reagent used will depend on the calcium level in the water being tested.
How to Use:
Instructions for use
Maintaining an optimal magnesium level in a marine aquarium is crucial for the well-being of invertebrates and decorative algae. For instance, red calcareous algae require a substantial amount of magnesium for their skeletal structure. The natural concentration in marine water is approximately 1,300 mg/l, which should also be replicated in your aquarium. The Sera magnesium test enables you to quickly and easily check the magnesium levels. If you have prior testing experience with the Sera calcium test, this process will be even simpler. You can effortlessly enhance the magnesium levels in your marine aquarium by adding Sera Marin COMPONENT 6 magnesium.
Usage Instructions: Shake the reagent bottles thoroughly before use! Avoid contact between the tested water and the aquarium or pond water!
1. Rinse the measurement vial several times with the water you wish to test, then discard the water. Dry the outside of the vial.
2. Rinse the syringe multiple times with the water to be tested, then draw 2 ml into the syringe and transfer it into the vial.
3. Add 6 drops of reagent 1 and shake the vial until the mixture is uniform. Any cloudiness that appears will not impact the results.
4. Introduce one level scoop (included in the kit) of reagent 2 into the vial and gently swirl (do not shake) until the powder is fully dissolved.
5. Gradually add reagent 3 drop by drop, counting each drop. Release pressure on the reagent bottle after every 5 drops to allow air to enter. Shake the vial after each drop until the color shifts from pink to blue (not violet) and remains stable for at least 30 seconds while gently swirling the vial. Record the number of drops used.
6. Discard the contents of the measurement vial, rinse it thoroughly with tap water, and then rinse it several times with the water to be tested before emptying it again. Dry the outside of the vial.
7. Use the syringe to take up 2 ml of the water to be tested and transfer it into the vial.
8. Add 6 drops of reagent 4 and shake the vial until the liquid is evenly mixed. Any cloudiness that occurs will not affect the test.
9. Introduce one level scoop (included in the kit) of reagent 5 into the vial and gently swirl (do not shake) until the powder is fully dissolved.
10. Add reagent 3 drop by drop, counting each drop. Release pressure on the reagent bottle after every 5 drops to allow air to enter. Shake the vial after each drop until the color changes from red to green and remains stable for at least 30 seconds while occasionally swirling the vial. Note – you will require significantly more drops for this measurement than for the initial one!
11. To determine the magnesium level, subtract the number of drops used in the first measurement from the total used in the second measurement. Multiply the remaining number of drops by 60 to convert it to mg/l. For example, if the first measurement needed 4 drops and the second needed 24, subtracting gives you 20 drops. Multiplying 20 drops by 60 results in 1,200 mg/l magnesium.
12. Cleaning: Rinse the vial and syringe thoroughly with tap water before and after each test. Immediately close the reagent bottles after use and do not swap caps. Store them at room temperature and away from light. This product is intended for testing ornamental fish aquariums and pond water only.
Keep in a cool, dark place!
